Build around your primary attribute
Each point of your primary attribute adds 1.8 damage on top of weapon damage. Every class also benefits from the other attributes: Strength improves critical power, Dexterity dodge, Intelligence paranormal resistance, Constitution HP and Luck critical chance.
| Class | Primary attribute | Passive ability |
|---|---|---|
| Brawler | Strength | Heavy Hit: +65% damage every fourth successful attack. |
| Gadgeteer | Dexterity | Overcharge: 30% chance of a +55% pulse on each successful attack. |
| Occultist | Intelligence | Exorcism: every third successful attack applies +30% incoming damage for your next two attack turns. |
Match defenses to the damage type
Armor mainly protects against physical attacks. Only 20% of its damage reduction applies to paranormal attacks, where Intelligence matters. If a paranormal enemy keeps beating you, more armor alone may not solve the problem.
- Constitution increases your HP pool and helps you survive longer fights.
- Dodge and critical chance have diminishing returns; extra points do not give a fixed percentage increase.
Compare with the item in the same slot
Hover over a shop offer or focus it with the keyboard. On a phone, open the item details. Read both gains and losses. A rarity color alone does not tell you which item is better.
- Example: extra damage at the cost of HP may help a short fight but hurt a chain of trail encounters.
- Look for useful bonuses to your own class’s primary attribute.
Read the design’s main stats and rolled extras
Newly generated equipment has main stats assigned to its individual design. Rarity and level affect its power budget, while secondary bonuses can differ between instances. Class-restricted gear does not gain extra power just for its restriction. Compare the actual item: Cardinal changes do not reroll equipment you already own.
Check requirements before buying
Required level and class determine whether you can equip an item. Buying another class’s gear does not bypass that restriction. It can discover the design in your Album; decide whether you are spending for collection or immediate strength.
Train before accepting the next job
Training unlocks at level 5. Choose an attribute that addresses the report: your primary for damage, Constitution for HP or suitable protection. Train and change equipment before accepting your next contract.
Before your next attempt
- I know my class’s primary attribute and passive.
- I check stat losses and equipment requirements.
- My spending addresses a weakness visible in the report.
