Meet the opponents and understand the ranking
In the current beta you fight NPCs, not other players’ characters. Three opponents have preset lineups. Standings compare hunters’ results in those fights: a win gives 3 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0. This is not a PvP duel ranking.
Bring three available spirits to practice
Practice unlocks at hunter level 20 and requires three owned, available spirits. Select an opponent, then fill the three ordered slots. Spirits listed on the market are unavailable for a new battle.
Read stats and abilities, not just rarity
Compare Power, Vitality, Agility and the ability description. Decide whether a spirit should survive the opening, deal damage or make use of a particular species effect. Higher rarity does not guarantee a stronger individual in every matchup.
Order the trio for the opponent
In practice, only the front living spirit on each side acts. The next enters after its predecessor falls; all three do not attack at once. Order can change how the fight unfolds.
- If your first spirit falls quickly, try a sturdier opener.
- If you narrowly lose at the end, compare the damage of your closing spirit.
Change one thing and watch the replay
Choose the same NPC preset, move one spirit and watch again. Follow when the next fighter enters and when abilities activate. Combat includes randomness, so a single improved result does not prove that a lineup will always win.
Before your next attempt
- I know opponents are NPCs and standings compare hunter results.
- I have three available spirits for practice.
- I watch the replay and change the order deliberately.
